Pinning and Work Supplies!

I haven't blogged in a while because I've been too busy reading other blogs, reading books, and wasting my life away on pinterest. I haven't started pinning yet, only browsing. I love the site, but it seems that it goes super slow and often results in my internet browser giving me the message "not responding". I can always tell when it starts going slow and is about to leave me the nasty message, in which I usually think "I'm just going to close this now". Buuuuut, I always find myself waiting around and letting it load back up. This cycle continues 5-10 times, or until my laptop is so hot that I'm getting 2nd degree burns on my legs. Needless to say, I look up and I've wasted an hour on pinterest!

I am totally smitten with exposed brick!

Painted pianos. Love this idea!!

Airy white spaces with tons of natural light!

This fun wall hanging!

On another note,

I've always been a sucker for school/office supplies. I remember growing up, back to school shopping was one of Alison and my favorite events! So, I've been at my new job in Savannah for about a month, and my desk is a disaster. There is absolutely nowhere to put papers/charts, and I have lots of them. I finally made it to Target for some much needed supplies!

My life must be pretty mundane, considering I'm excited about going to work on a Friday, just because I get to use these new pens!!

I'm going to post about all my home decor projects soon.....that is whenever I find buy a new camera cord :/

Girls Week in Savannah!

I had a WONDERFUL time spending last week with Mom and 2 of her (and my) friends here in Savannah!!!

As predicted, we did LOTS of eating!!

Watched a beautiful fireworks show over the Savannah River!

Had drinks on a rooftop...

Took a tour of Savannah and soaked in the history of the city...

Ate at The Lady & Sons (Paula Deen's restaurant)...

Shopped on River Street...

Enjoyed a day at the beach...

Lusted over beautiful Southern homes...

And finally....said "Goodbye" :(

Their shirts say "Girlfriends on Vacation - Tybee Island" with a blonde, a brunette, and a red-head! So cute!

Like a Kid at Christmas!

Today I was thinking back about times before that I've been so excited for something the next day that I couldn't sleep. One time in elementary school, I was soooo excited about the 1st day of school that I woke up in the middle of the night, put my "1st day of school" clothes on and slept in them, because I thought it would make it come faster.....boy oh boy how things change!!!

While I probably won't be losing any sleep tonight (sorry Mom). I am very excited because at this time tomorrow my mom and 2 of her good friends will be here for a week of playing in Savannah!! I can't wait to show these ladies around, go to the beach, eat out, and of course shop! I don't know exactly what all we're going to do, but I do know we will be having a great time!! I probably won't be blogging while they're here, but I definitely will after they leave.

Now, the only thing that could make this better is if somehow they could fit these 4 into their carry-ons :)

On another note, I spent today working on this Pottery Barn inspired DIY art from The Lettered Cottage. It's going to go above the bed in one of the guest rooms.

It turned out great, except that my stamps for the words were not quite big enough. I went to Wal-Mart in hopes that they would have some bigger, but of course they didn't even have stamps! Also, there is no Hobby Lobby in Savannah, only Michaels :(. This makes me very sad, but Hubs and the bank account very happy. Ha! So I guess I will order some stamps, and finish this project later (add it to the long list of started and not finished projects!). I will be sure and post the finished product, whenever that may be.

Have a safe and happy 4th! Happy Birthday America!
